Roland's book sounds amazing!! Has everything I like to read!!

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

It was a great read.

Sherry Ellis • 10 years ago

That looks like a very cool book. Love the title, too!

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Thanks, Sherry. Check my book's LOOK INSIDE option. :-)

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

The title is catchy.

Tammy Theriault • 10 years ago

that girl looks deliciously evil! love it!

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Meilori is indeed deliciously ... self-focused. :-)

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

She just might be!

Gary Philip Pennick • 10 years ago

Hey David,

Delightful to see you have done such a wonderful review of our good friend, Roland. I know that Roland writes fantastic books. The latest is no exception. Well done, Roland. And David, very good of you to bring such awareness.

Take care, my friend.

Gary :)

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Wasn't David wonderful to do this for me? He has a unique take on Sci Fi and Fantasy. And thank you, Gary, for the nice words about this book. If you like it, would you mention that on its Amazon page? Empress Meilori would look fondly upon you --- and that is never a bad thing!

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

Thanks Gary.
Roland does write fantastic books.

Lynda R. Young • 10 years ago

wonderful review! Congrats to Roland :)

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

David did do a great review, didn't he, Lynda. And thanks for the nice words, too. :-)

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

Thank you, It is a wonderful book.

Carol Kilgore • 10 years ago

Great review, David. I'll be sure to check out this book further - it sounds fascinating.

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

Thanks Carol.
Amazon has the look inside sample that helps to get a feel for the book.

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

David is right: that Look Inside sample is super! I think you will enjoy the verbal fire between Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde that starts in Chapter 3 and runs for the rest of the book! :-) And thank you, David, for doing this for me!!

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

It's been fun!

Rusty Carl • 10 years ago

Sounds pretty awesome! I, of course, will try to pick it up and read. It can be hard though, honestly, I have too many things! Argh.

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

It was a fast read for me. I told Roland, one night my wife made me go to bed because it was late.So I finished it the next day.

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Wow. I'm flattered that you enjoyed it so. My apologies to your wife! :-)

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

The great thing about Kindle or eBooks is that they take up no physical room and only a little bit on your reader or your computer (there is an app: KINDLE FOR PC offered for free on Amazon). Thanks for the compliment.

SPBowers • 10 years ago

Congrats Roland! I love books that cross Genres.

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

I forgot to include humor as part of the appeal.
Roland has a way with words.

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

SP, I think you'd like this one. Humor, horror, historical fantasy, mystery -- it is the best that I could make it. Thanks for the kind words.

Tina • 10 years ago

I already have two of Roland's book in my (gosh I hate to admit how far behind I am) 105 book TBR pile and am on a book buying freeze (self-imposed) until I make at least a 25 book dent...great review though. Roland, all the best with this latest adventure. Sounds awesome!

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

This is a great book. I understand having a list of books that need to be read it is like having a basket of laundry that needs folding.

Tina • 10 years ago

Almost. If you keep adding more laundry without folding more than a sock a week...

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Thanks for buying 2 of my books already. Empress Meilori Shinseen read of your loutish Jim Kirk (alias) and promptly vowed to turn him into a midget gerkin should she ever run across him! She also sent you DEATH IN THE HOUSE OF LIFE -- as Empress she expects not to have wait in line! You know supernatural empresses! :-)

Tina • 10 years ago

Wow, Roland, I'm really touched. Seriously. The Empress has defended my honor, and I love that he is now a gerkin. Well deserved fate for such a lout. You're really awesome, you know that?

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Thanks, Tina! :-)

Karen Lange • 10 years ago

Congratulations to Roland! Happy New Year!

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Yes, I join David in wishing you a Happy New Year as well. Meilori murmurs icily, "This Lange human did not mention me." Ah, I'll put in a good word for you. :-)

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

Happy New Year to you also!

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Meradeth, Discus wouldn't let my friend, D.G. Hudson, post either and she tried twice! I hope you give DEATH IN THE HOUSE OF LIFE a chance -- I think you would enjoy it. :-)

Meradeth Houston • 10 years ago

Sounds like something I'd really enjoy! Thanks for the tip--I'll definitely check this out!

(And discus isn't liking me at the moment--hopefully this posts!)

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

Disqus is picky sometimes!

J. A. Bennett • 10 years ago

Creepy beautiful cover. Congrats Roland!

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Thanks, J.A. Leonora Roy outdid herself this time. Try the first free sample pages on its Amazon page, why don't you? :-)

jeremy [retro] • 10 years ago

Roland is a talented soul, dig his work... though I think the voices may take over someday, someday. Great job DW!

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

The voices only keep me company when reality is nasty. :-)

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

May someday never come.
I had a friend in school who called me DW...We both liked Dark Wing Duck.

DEZMOND • 10 years ago

Congrats to sir Roland!

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

I don't know how he puts out so many quality books.

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Thanks, Dezmond. David, I think I will concentrate on the next one a little while. :-)

Alex J. Cavanaugh • 10 years ago

You can't define Roland's books by genre. Part literary, part horror, part mythos - difficult to describe.
I think Alice is a wicked character. True to a woman - she'll either love you or eat you.

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

Alex, what a nice thing to say. I have created a unique challange for myself: writing books in a linked universe where the background characters of one become the lead in another. David, I think your wife would like at least Mark Twain in my novel. He's a winner -- at least that is what he keeps telling me!

DAVID WALSTON • 10 years ago

The moment my wife asked me, was the moment I realized it was all things to all.

oldkitty • 10 years ago

Came here cos the Empress says if I don't the world will end or worse! LOL! So here I am! Hello David and Roland! Thanks for the lovely intro to Samuel and his dysfunctional and gorgeous family! :-) Take care
x

Roland Yeomans • 10 years ago

David is right" Meilori could come up with worse or her twin sister surely could! Sam is almost Biblical in his dysfunctional family and friends. Makes it interesting!
